Steam humidifiers with electrodes











New family of humiSteam steam humidifiers with electrodes is a result of long-term experience of Carel in humidifying technology. This innovative solution offers the highest quality, application of the cutting-edge technology thus making it suitable for industrial and air-conditioning applications. humiSteam humidifiers have been designed to maximise reliability and assure ease of operation. It features state-of-the-art microprocessor control system – the user can select either economic ON/OFF control or a proportional system in which a humivisor controller with a graphic display has been used. Humivisor can be used to remotely control several devices from a distance of up to 1 km.

New design of steam cylinders
humiSteam humidifiers have been fitted with new, even larger steam cylinders. Their diameter has been enlarged by 50 mm, while their total capacity has remained unchanged. Larger capacity of cylinders enables more uniform and slower scale creation, which extends their life-cycle. Additionally, a new and compact filter makes it possible to limit maintenance related to scale accumulation.

New electrode shape and material
humiSteam humidifiers feature electroplated electrodes with a new shape and optimised cross-section. Larger external surface and a special algorithm of operation of these electrodes extend the life-cycle of cylinders and ensure better steam generation capacity, as well as more uniform scale accumulation.

Opened cylinders
New humidifiers can be fitted with recyclable cylinders made of fire resistant plastic (HB- fire resistance class as per standard UL94) or with cylinders that can be opened and cleaned - which are made of fire resistant plastic (V0 fire resistance class – as per standard UL94).
Opened cylinders feature covers of the quick-connection-type XXX with a rubber gasket that ensure perfect sealing between two cylinder parts.

Electric safety
Feeder cables are connected to the cylinder by means of flat terminals connected to electrodes via electroplated nuts, which prevents corrosion and connection clogging. The connection is silicone covered. Such a solution ensures better electrical connection and eliminates contact-related problems that occur in case of alternative solution i.e. ‘plug- socket’ type offered by other manufacturers.
Valves and other components of humidifiers that contact parts of hydraulic installation are low-voltage supplied (24V AC).

Steam distributor with a fan
The family of humiSteam humidifiers has been designed with steam distributors with fans with an optional support in case of assembly at a distance. A centrifugal fan has a double supply voltage (230/400V AC), which makes it more flexible.
The interior of the distributor is made of stainless steel, whereas on the outside there has been mounted a deflector that directs the air stream vertically. Fan rpm controller for adjusting the air stream volume is available as option.

Steam lances
SDP-type steam lances have been made of stainless steel AISI304. They are supplied together with a fixing grip for humidifying in ducts, as two concentric pipes for more coherent steam distribution and to avoid condensation.
More efficient aluminium lances have been designed so as to assure light weight and broad spectrum of application. They can be cut as required to fit the duct size.
Short steam distributors of the ‘nozzle’ type are made of plastic and can be installed in small ducts or air-conditioning units.

Controllers and sensors
The following controllers are available:
Version with ON/OFF control that may be connected to the external proportional controller and two versions with modulated control for connecting humidity or temperature sensors with a voltage or current output control signal.
Equipment with modulation control feature a RS485 connection for connecting supervision and monitoring system or for connecting a humivisor controller with a graphic display.

Centralised remote control system
Humivisor remote control system makes it possible to create a local network of humidifiers (up to 4 units) within the range of up to 1km.
Humivisor ensures easy and centralised control of all humidifiers, graphic displaying of control parameters and presetting future operation of equipment.

A broad selection of humiSteam humidifiers with a steam generation capacity from 1 to 126 kg/h makes them the most modern and flexible solution for all humidifying applications – starting from museums to clean rooms, from general air-conditioning systems to industrial aplications.
Designers of these humidifiers paid particular attention to the reduction of maintenance operations. There have been designed steam cylinders with a prolonged life-cycle, available also as opened. Additionally, material and shape of electrodes was modified and a new compact filter was designed.
Sophisticated control system was developed to enable remote control of humidifiers and their connection to the supervision and monitoring system.

  • UE - letters indicating a humidifier with electrodes

    • H = modulation control with an external humidity sensor
    • T = modulation control with an external temperature sensor
